Under 10

On last Sunday morning we headed to Boherlahan to participate in their tournament. After three group games we had a 100% record. In semi-final we were up against the home team. This was a brilliant match between two evenly matched sides. A pointed free in injury time from Kilruane brought this game to extra time. Here again there was nothing between the teams until a MacDonaghs goal at the finish saw us over the line. A heroic effort in final was not enough and we narrowly lost out to a strong St. Mary's outfit.

Under 9

Our U9s also were also in Boherlahan and qualified and from their group. In the semi-final we got the better of the hosts. In final we were up against a very talented Danesfort side from Kilkenny. In an epic encounter the skill and commitment of both teams was a joy to see.  MacDonaghs showed great composure in the last few minutes as Danesfort came in search of a goal. This was a brilliant win by a very talented group. There were great scenes of excitement as captain Mark Cleary lifted the cup.

Thanks to Boherlahan for the invitation and running two great tournaments.
