Junior

In a high-scoring first round of the League MacDonaghs (4-13) played out a draw with Borris-Ileigh (3-16) in MacDonagh Park. In was a game in which both defences looked vulnerable and the forwards on either side took full advantage. At half-time the Magpies trailed by three points with the scoreboard reading 3-8 to 2-8 in favour of the visitors. For the second half the selectors reshuffled the defence and, while never looking entirely comfortable at the back, the haemorrhage of goals was staunched. In the end the result could have gone either way and both sides were happy with a share of the points. Team: Niall Shinners, Conor Austin, Mark O’Meara, Cormac Williams, Cormac Mannion (0-1), Martin Grace (0-1), Alan Darcy, Robert Austin (0-1), Caoilainn Conroy, Mark O’Neill (1-4), Paddy Ryan (1-1), Conor Lillis (0-1), Luke Dervan (1-0), Declan Barrett and Conor Doheny (1-4 from frees). Subs: James Cleary, Kevin Ryan, Kevin Shinners, Pat Conway and Kevin Oakley. The next game will be away to Templederry on the weekend of 7th April.

Minor
