All-Ireland Semi-Final

Best of luck to Niall O’Meara, Jerome Cahill, Cian Darcy, Eamon O’Shea and the Tipperary team  against Wexford.

Junior

In their final group game MacDonaghs are up against Roscrea in Toomevara on Friday at 8.00pm.

Minor

In the first round we lost to a very good Borrisokane side in MacDonagh Park on a 2-26 to 1-13 scoreline. We were short a number of players including Kian O’Kelly and this had us on the back foot before the ball was thrown in. The visitors were on fire in the opening quarter and led by 0-9 to 0-1 after eleven minutes. In the second quarter MacDonaghs managed to stabilise the situation and trailed by 0-14 to 0-7 at the interval.

Three minutes into the second half there was a glimmer of light for the Magpies when Matthew Spain found the net to reduce the deficit to five. However, a minute later Borrisokane raised a green flag and it was game over. MacDonaghs plugged away until the end but Borrisokane were comfortable winners.

Team: Kevin McDonald, Eoin O’Meara, Páidí Williams (0-3, 0-1 from free), Louis Kennedy, Ciaran Coffey, David O’Sullivan, Oisín Carroll, Nathan Lynch (0-6, 0-4 from frees), Aaron Morgan (0-1), Matthew Spain (1-2), Cormac Doheny, Eoin Carroll, Oisín Williams (0-1), James Loughnane and Pádraig Coonan. Subs: Colm Cleary, Barry Shanahan and Fionnan Hurley. The visitors dominated from the start and were comfortable winners. In the second round Newport will provide the opposition in Lacken Park on Wednesday, 31st July at 7.30pm.
