U16
Our U16 girls had their first outing on Saturday March 3rd in Ardcroney against Portroe.  The elements were out in force with a strong wind blowing down the field.  We won the toss and played with the wind in first half which gave us most of the play.  Building a lead at half time of 1–07 to no score with the goal coming from Lynn Farrell after great team play from Kate Ryan and Abigail Quinlivan.  For the second half we played into the gale and it was all hands on deck and in fairness to all the girls, they stood up to the challenge, with the three subs that started the second half showing the strength of our team. Aishling Nevin and Anna Mulcahy were dominant in the backs, Leanne Gould and Amy McCarthy never stopped fight for every ball in mid field while, Leah Sullivan held the ball well in the forwards.  Two points from Lynn Farrell and one from Kate Ryan in the second half were the winnings of the game.  Portroe to their credit never gave up and gave us a very hard and sporting game but our girls managed to hang on in the end.  Final score Kilruane 1–10 to Portroe 2–05.

Team Aine Spain, Aishling Nevin, Anna Mulcahy, Caoimhe Conroy, Kaci Sullivan, Amy McCarthy, Lynn Farrell, Leanne Gould, Grainne O’Meara, Abigail Quinlivan, Leah Sullivan, Kate Ryan, Subs Lucy O’Brien, Orna Daly and Mollie Kennedy

We have no game next weekend due to County U16 competition.
