 U-21 Hurling

The U-21 hurlers qualified for the North Final with a win against Borris-Ileigh. They now face Burgess in the final. This match is pencilled in for Nenagh this Saturday. Check Fixtures.

County Football Final

The Kilruane MacDonaghs senior football team, which won the county final in 1975, is being honoured at next Sunday’s final in Semple Stadium. The team will be guests at the final and will be presented to the crowd between the minor and senior finals. There will be a post match reception in the Templemore Arms Hotel. The team that beat Loughmore-Castleiney in the 1975 final in Nenagh on a 3-6 to 1-10 scoreline lined out as follows: Tony Sheppard, Donnchadha Minogue, Dinny O Meara (Capt), Brian O Reilly R.I.P., John Kelly, Paddy Williams, Dinny Cahill, Phil Reddan, Tom Killackey, Seamus Hennessy, Jim Williams, Jim O Meara, Gilbert Williams, Sean O Meara and John Quinlan. Subs: Bunny Keogh, Noel Killackey R.I.P., Dinny Whelan, Kevin Dwan, Eddie Troy, John Joe Hyland, John Sheppard, Michael Waters and Jim Reddan. The selectors were Paddy Quinlan R.I.P., Hughie McDonnell R.I.P. and Frank Brady R.I.P.

Schools Football

Kilruane N.S. drew with Ballina N.S. in the final group game. Kilruane scored 2-9 to Ballina’s 3-6. Both sides now meet in the semi-final.
