County League

In the first round of the county league the senior hurlers had a good 2-15 to 0-8 away win against Boherlahan-Dualla. A goal in the third minute by Brian O Meara set MacDonaghs on their way to victory. Assisted by the breeze they had the better of matters in the first half and a second goal by Brian O Meara on the stroke of half time helped them into an eight point interval lead. The defence was very solid in the second half with Stephen Murphy and Mark O Leary playing pivotal roles in repelling the Boherlahan attacks and ensuring that the points came north. Team: Ger Corcoran, Brian Gaynor, Stephen Murphy, Gavin McAvinchey, Ray McLoughney, Mark O Leary, Padraig Kelly, Eoin Hogan (0-1), Mikey Costello (0-1), Diarmuid Cahill (0-1), Kevin Quinlan, Martin Walsh, Mark O Meara, Shane Quinlan (0-1) and Brian O Meara (2-11).
