Senior Hurling

The senior hurlers made a successful start to the championship with a good victory against Portroe. In the second round they will face Moneygall.

Junior Hurling

The junior hurlers play Kildangan in Puckane on this Sunday at 6.00 p.m. in the second round of the league.

Junior C Hurling

The Junior C hurlers open their league campaign with an away game against Knockshegowna on Friday April 30th followed by a home game against Ballina on Friday May 14th. It is hoped to have a practice match next week.

Feile

The U-14 hurlers advanced to the semi-final of the Feile with a one point away win against Borris-Ileigh on a 1-4 to 0-6 scoreline. MacDonaghs were against the wind in the first half and trailed by five points at the break. With the backing of the elements in the second half they upped the tempo of the game and Abhain Coleman scored the crucial goal which helped Kilruane chisel out a narrow victory. Parish League

The annual Parish league commences on this Saturday in MacDonagh Park at 11 o clock. All boys from third to sixth class are eligible to participate. In the first game De Wets play Kyle followed by Rapla against Ballycapple. Teams will be circulated to the schools this week and will also be published on the website.

Juvenile Football

In the first round the U-12 footballers overcame Inane Rovers in Ardcroney while the U-14 footballers had an away victory against Borrisokane.

NUIG Award

Congratulations to Seamus Hennessy who received the hurling award at the NUI Galway Annual Sports Awards.

FitzGibbon All-Stars

Congratulations to Seamus Hennessy NUIG, Ray McLoughney WIT and Brian O Meara WIT who were selected on the Fitzgibbon Cup All-Star team.

Cul Camp

The annual Cul hurling and camogie Summer Camp takes place in MacDonagh Park Monday July 5th to Friday July 9th. The camp is open to all boys and girls from age six upwards. Each participant will receive a kit which will include jersey, socks, togs and gear bag. Application forms are being distributed through the schools this week. The cost for one child is €55, two children €100 and three children €135. All enquiries to Gilbert Williams 087-2176452.

Hurleys

All hurleys for repair should be given to David Reddan. Juvenile hurleys now cost €10 and are available from the managers of the respective team managers.

Lotto

Congratulations to Eoin O Callaghan c/o Carney Pub who scooped the €3,450 lotto jackpot. The club would like to thank our loyal subscribers and promoters for their consistent support. Child Welfare Course

The club is hosting a child welfare course in the clubroom on Thursday April 22nd between 6.00 p.m. and 10.00 p.m. The course is mandatory for all coaches and selectors involved with underage players. All mentors have received text notification and are asked to reply to Sean Ward 086-6537799.
