Minor Hurlers in North Final

Minor Hurling
The minor hurlers qualified for the North final when they defeated Lorrha after extra time on a 4-16 to 2-14 scoreline. MacDonaghs made a blistering start to the game and after the first quarter the scoreboard read 3-5 to 0-2 in their favour. Inside two minutes Seamus Hennessy had buried a penalty after Brian O Meara was hauled down. Pat Conway also chipped in with two goals. Lorrha edged their way back into the game and eight points separated the sides at the break. In the second half Lorrha took control of the game and deep into injury time had gone a point ahead. Jonathan Cahill was fouled as he careered through and he slotted over the equaliser from the resultant free.
