Senior Hurling
Kilruane MacDonaghs booked a place in the quarter-final of the North championship with a 3-22 to 1-10 victory against Borrisokane in Nenagh. This was the team’s fourth successive championship victory this year ( 2 in the North & 2 in the County). It was a subdued rather than vintage performance in a game that lacked any real intensity. The selectors will have been pleased with the spread of scorers. The entire forward line, the two midfielders and two of the substitutes scored from play, while Kieran Cahill chipped in with a point from a 65.
MacDonaghs led by 1-8 to 0-6 at the interval, despite having played against the breeze. On the resumption Kilruane took a firm grip of the game and ran out comfortable winners. Team:
Thomas Williams, Éanna Hogan, Seamus Hennessy, Paidí Kelly, Eoin Hogan, Kieran Cahill (0-1, 65), Willie Cleary, Justin Cahill (0-3), Liam Gibson (0-1), Thomas Cleary (0-3), Brian O’Meara (2-5), Kevin Ryan (0-2), Eoin Williams (1-2), Niall O’Meara (0-2) and Mark O’Leary (Capt) (0-1). Subs: Ray McLoughney (0-1), Jonathan Cahill (0-1), Jack Peters, Mark O’Meara and Darragh Peters (Blood Sub).
In the quarter-final Kilruane MacDonaghs will play the winners of Ballina and Portroe. This game will probably take place in early July. With competition for places intensifying both in defence and attack, training and challenge games in the next few weeks should be very interesting.

Junior Hurling
The junior hurlers will open their campaign against Moneygall on the weekend of June 21st.

Under 14 Football
The U14 footballers lost out to a very strong Holycross side in the county semi-final on a 4-13 to 7-2 scoreline after a tremendous tussle in Borrisoleigh. MacDonaghs had first use of the breeze but it was the Mid champions who led by five points at the break. Early in the second half Holycross extended their advantage. However, against all the odds the smaller and lighter Kilruane side stormed back into the game to draw level before two late points secured victory for Holycross. Team: Jack Dunne, Kieran Spain, Cian Spillane, Louis Kennedy, Páidí Williams, Mark O’Neill, Dylan Moran, Devlin Courtney (2-2), Owen Usman, Matthew Moyles, Sean McAdams (1-0), Aaron Morgan, Matthew Spain (2-0), Kian O’Kelly (1-0) and Conor Quinlan.
