Cumann na nBunscol

Our school teams didn’t enjoy the best of good fortune in the county finals in Semple Stadium. In a thrilling encounter the Kilruane N.S. U11 team lost out by a single point to Thomastown N.S. on a 5-4 to 2-12 scoreline. Kilruane trailed by four points at the break, but in a tremendous second half display turned a point interval deficit into a four point lead. However, Thomastown struck for two late goals to take the title. Team: Jamie Kennedy, Eoin O’Meara, James Loughnane, Dylan Moran, Rory Grace, Aaron Morgan and Cormac Doheny. Subs: Bonnie Conroy and Paul O’Neill.

The Ardcroney U13 camogie team acquitted themselves very well against a very strong Cashel G.N.S. side who prevailed on a 5-4 to 1-4 scoreline. The Ardcroney U13 hurling team had a great battle with Thomastown N.S. in a game where the issue was in doubt up to the final whistle. Ardcroney led at half time, but came out the wrong side of a 5-8 to 5-5 scoreline. Well done to all three teams on reaching the finals.

Under 12

The U12 A hurlers lost out to a slick Roscrea side in St. Cronan’s Park. Goalkeeper Páidí Williams, who kept his line intact, and Kian O’Kelly were outstanding for MacDonaghs.
