Juvenile AGM:
A very lively and well attended Juvenile AGM was held in the clubroom on last Thursday. All the officers of the senior club were present. The meeting reviewed a very successful year which saw the U/14 hurlers win the North Championship and Féile finals. Plans were made for 2007 which included running a number of tournaments and a parish league, organising a summer camp, taking the U/12’s and U/14’s on a trip to Croke Park and fundraising. It was decided that all teams would play in section A in both hurling and football. Sean Ward was elected chairman to succeed Gilbert Williams who stepped aside after ten years at the helm. The following officers were elected: Presidents – Fr. Tom Hannon, Fr. Enda Burke, Paddy Quinlan and Tom McLoughney; Chairman – Sean Ward; Secretary – Sean Lawlor; P.R.O. – Gilbert Williams and North Board Rep – Sean Lawlor. All selectorial positions were filled: U/8 Jimmy Brady, Michael O’Neill and Pat Shanahan; U/10 Christy Morgan, Enda McLoughney and Ned Darcy; U/12 Sean Ward, Liam Boyle and John Hyland; U/14 Jimmy Cahill, Fr. Dinner Dance: Nicky Brennan president of the G.A.A. will be guest of honour at this Saturday night’s dinner dance which takes place in the Abbey Court Hotel. The minor and U/21 hurlers will be presented with their medals. Patrons are reminded that the function will have a punctual 8 O’clock start and won’t be delayed to facilitate late arrivals.

Meeting: A meeting of the senior club committee will be held in the clubroom on this Thursday night at 8.00p.m.

Juvenile Meeting: A meeting of the juvenile committee will be held in the clubroom on this Friday night at 8.00p.m. All juvenile selectors are asked to attend.

Indoor Hurling: Due to a clash with a school meeting the resumption of indoor hurling for the U/8’s and U/10’s has been deferred to Tuesday February 20th.

Membership: The club is currently launching a membership blitz. Membership is mandatory for all players from U/8 up to senior. Applications for match tickets will only be accepted from fully paid up members. The fee is €40 for players, €20 for non-playing adults and €5 for juveniles.

Camogie A.G.M.: The AGM of the Camogie club will be held in the clubroom on Friday February 16th at 8.00p.m. A cup of tea will be provided for all before the commencement of the meeting.

U/21 Football: The U/21 footballers will be the first club team in competitive action when they take on Silvermines in Dolla on Saturday February 17th at 4.00p.m. The return leg will be played in MacDonagh Park on Saturday March 4th. Aggregate score will decide which team advances to the final.

All Ireland Forecast: As their fundraising venture for 2007, the juvenile club is organising an All-Ireland forecast competition. The challenge is toe predict the All-Ireland finalists and the eventual winners in both hurling and football. More details later.

County Draw: Congratulations to Sandra O’Leary and Kevin Ryan who were successful in the county draw in recent weeks.

Sympathy: The club would like to extend its sympathy to the Maher family Bricana, the Harty family Main St. and the family of the late Bridie Gleeson on their recent bereavements.
