Adult Teams
There was mixed fortunes for our two adult teams last weekend as they played their first round matches in the league campaigns. The first fixture in Cloughjordan on Sunday morning at 12 noon was the Junior B match v Ballina. Kilruane fielded six 16 year girls making their debut on an adult team for the first time and this panel of girls acquitted themselves well against a stronger more experienced Ballina team who had a comfortable win in the end. Scores for Kilruane came from a well-taken point from play by Shauna Heffernan and a point scored from a free by Sorcha Heenan. The second fixture of the day was the Intermediate first round match match against Drom. Kilruane struggled in the first half to get scores playing against the wind and went in at half-time down by 0-1 to 1-8. However, the wind aided the Kilruane girls in the second half in their comeback and three goals by Shauna Heffernan, Fiona Ryan and Shauna Tooher brought the final result to a draw on a scoreline to 3-3 to 1-9. The next Junior B match is fixed for 16th March and the Intermediate match v Moycarkey may be brought forward to this weekend. Players will be notifed by text.

U12
The U12’s continue training on Tuesday nights in Cloughjordan at 6.30pm.

U14
Kilruane played Nenagh in the Feile Competition on Saturday last in Nenagh. This was a tough physical match with both teams eager to progress in the competition. There was little between both teams at half-time but Nenagh pulled away in the second half to take the honours at full-time. Training continues on Tuesday nights at the ball-wall in Cloughjordan from 6.30-7.30pm and on Sunday mornings in Ardcroney from 11.30-12.30pm in preparation for the championship matches starting next month.
