Junior
The Junior A team got their championship campaign off to a good start with a convincing 3-12 to 1-7 win over Toomevara in Toomevara last Friday evening. The early stages were even with points for both teams. However, Kilruane got the goal they needed to give them a hold on the game, when Hazel Keogh was fouled and although Claire Kennedy's penalty was saved, she made no mistake with the rebound. Tricia Hogan followed this up with a point. However, it was to be her last as she had to be taken off some after with a leg injury, and was replaced by u16 County player Maria Hogan. The Kilruane defence remained solid throughout and at half-time Kilruane were in the lucky position of a 1-5 to 0-3 scoreline. This could have been more however were it not for a series of wides. The second half brought a second penalty for Kilruane, when Hazel Keogh was again brought down. This time the selectors opted to have goalkeeper Sarah Coonon step up to the mark. However, her shot was well saved by the Toome trio. The Kilruane fowards continued to threaten, with Niamh Williams and Claire Kennedy in particular continuing to add to Kilruane's scores. Hazel Keogh too finally got the goal she deserved, before Toome broke through for their goal. Corner back Eibhlin Enright had to be taken off with a leg injury and was replaced with Niamh Gibson. Carmel O'Brien too got into championship action for the closing minutes when she replaced Marie Ryan in the forwards. Team: Sarah Coonan, Eibhlin Enright, Joyce Tooher, Orla Murphy, Lisa Cahill, Katie Kennedy, Mary Walsh, Shauna Tooher, Aine Kennedy, Niamh Williams, Fiona Ryan, Marie Ryan, Hazel Keogh, Claire Kennedy and Tricia Hogan. Subs introduced: Maria Hogan, Niamh Gibson and Carmel O'Brien.
Best wishes to Tricia Hogan and Eibhlin Enright for a speedy recovery to their injuries and also to Louise Hogan who is out of action at the moment.
The team now turn their attention to the League final which takes place this Monday 20th in The Ragg camogie field against Drom & Inch at 6.30pm. Please come along and support the girls in this important match.

Under 12
The U12 panel took part in the U12 blitz hosted by Borrisokane GAA Club as part of their Family Fun Day on Sunday last in Borrisokane. Kilruane's first two games were against Portroe and Shannon Rovers and Kilruane had to work very hard to get scores and eventually win both matches. The final pairing was between Kilruane and Burgess (both teams had 2 wins) - this was a tough and very competitive final with nothing spared and little between both teams. Kilruane managed to get the vital scores and pulled away to win on a scoreline of 4-1 to 2-1. The team members were presented with medals and team captain on the day Tara Lillis (B) was presented with the winning cup by Tadhg Slevin of Borrisokane GAA club. Thanks to Borrisokane GAA Club for the invitation to their blitz and their hospitality on the day.
Well done to the team on the day: Orla Molloy, Catherine Tighe, Meadhbh Heenan, Tara Lillis (B), Louise Torpey, Sophie O'Neill-Reidy, Bonny Conroy, Amy Quinlisk, Tara Lillis (K), Aoife Sullivan and Ella Kennedy. Subs: Britney Hogan, Leah Heffernan, Amy Hill, Jessica Reddan.
