Membership

Membership is now due and can be paid to any committee member. The fee for 2009 is: adult players €40, non- playing adults €20, student players €20 and juveniles €10. Application forms for all juveniles on the u-6, u-8, u-10 and u-12 panels have been distributed through the local primary schools. Juvenile players on the u-14 and u-16 panels will receive their application forms at training. All juvenile players will receive an information booklet, which includes guidelines for players, parents and selectors as well as the juvenile roll of honour, contact numbers for all officials and players as well as a short profile of Thomas MacDonagh. This booklet and the membership application form can also be downloaded from the club website www.kilruanemacdonaghs.com

Juvenile Gradings

County Bord na nÓg has finalised the gradings for 2009. All Kilruane MacDonaghs teams will play in section A in both hurling and football.

Indoor Hurling

The indoor hurling sessions continue to attract large attendances. On Monday night the u-8s are in action at 6.30 p.m., followed by the u-10s at 7.30 p.m. On Wednesday night it’s the turn of the u-12s who train at 7.30 p.m.

Summer Camp

The Cúl hurling and camogie summer camp will take place in MacDonagh Park from Monday July 6th to Friday July 10th. This annual camp has been an outstanding success and has proved very popular with primary school boys and girls. Coaches appointed by the County Board run the Cul camps in a very professional manner. More details later.

All-Ireland Club

Congratulations to Dinny Cahill and Oisín O Neill on Portumna’s victory in the All-Ireland club semi-final.

Concert

St. Michael’s National School is organising a concert featuring Brendan Grace in the Thomas MacDonagh Sports Complex on Sunday March 29th. The Complex has a proven track record in hosting major concerts, having already witnessed Sharon Shannon and Frances Black entertaining capacity audiences. Tickets are available from any member of the Parents Council or from the school.
